Getting Here
From the north, take I-75 south to exit 11, then Highway 129 south for forty scenic minutes through the Okefenokee country. Watch for our hand-painted sign at the canoe landing.
From the south, follow US 441 north through Lake City, turning onto 129 at the Suwannee River bridge. The outfitter sits where the river bends, just past the historic ranger station.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to reserve a canoe in advance?
Weekends fill fast during spring and fall. We strongly recommend reserving at least a week ahead, though same-day rentals are often available on weekdays.
What should I bring on the river?
Pack sunscreen, refillable water, quick-dry shoes, and a dry bag for phones. We provide paddles, life vests, and a printed waterproof map of the run.
Are pets allowed on the canoes?
Leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome aboard at no extra charge. Please bring a towel and fresh water for your pup after the float.
What if it rains on the day of my trip?
Light rain rarely cancels a float since the Suwannee runs clear. For thunderstorms, we reschedule at no charge or refund in full.
Hours and Seasons
Our outfitter opens the first Saturday of March and closes the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Daily hours run 7am to 6pm, with last launch at 3pm. Sunrise floats can be arranged by request.
The sweetest water arrives in April and again in October, when the river runs slow and the cypress shadows stretch long across the surface.
